Herman H.

Born in Jacksonville, Florida on July 16th, 90 years ago, Herman Higginbotham has been a Jacksonville resident his entire life. Married twice in his lifetime, 40 years to his first wife and mother of his two daughters, Bonnie June and married to his second wife for 18 years. He lost both the women he loved to cancer.

Herman has had two careers, the military, and the US Post Office. Herman particularly remembers the 10 years that he delivered mail while riding a bicycle.

Herman believes his greatest accomplishment was being a good father and husband. His two daughters live here in Jacksonville where they raise Herman’s 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. 

Herman is a new senior involved in our Seniors on a Mission program. He attended the first mission trip for the new Murray Hill location.
