"Seniors on a Mission"
The MacArthur Foundation’s 10-year study determined that seniors age most successfully when they do three things:1) Avoid Disease
2) Engage with Life
3) Maintain High Cognitive & Physical Functions
These three objectives can be best achieved when a senior is:
Active, Social and Confident
Barnabas International, whole-heartedly concurs with the findings of the MacArthur study. For years, Barnabas has encouraged and supported seniors in their desire to maintain their independence, as well as their mental, physical and spiritual well-being. One of the key activities our organization offers to live-alone-at-home seniors is a weekly, local, mission trip. Seniors get out of their homes, and enjoy a day of community service with other seniors. It gets them into the local community, has them involved in social situations, builds confidence as they find purpose in assisting some of Jacksonville’s neediest families and they feel God’s pleasure as they bring Him glory through the work of their hands.
We invite you to sign up to recieve our newsletter and to join us on a mission trip in the near future. Check our calendar for a mission trip in your area. Sign up now
